Who We Are
Who We Are
American Press sales offices

We maintain sales offices around the country to better serve our growing client base.

The American Press publication sales group has minimally twenty years printing experience for each sales person. Each, too, is a college graduate with specialized degrees in business, fine arts or the graphic arts. We can offer advice (if solicited) for magazines or catalogs on a wide range of helpful ideas, from choice of paper to specialized sizes, postal and distribution options or finishing technics, all toward helping customers optimize their printing and distribution experiences.
Our team provides valuable resources to be used, and remains accessible at all times, from your sales rep to sales and manufacturing management, as well as the company president. We are all here to help.

Established since 1972 and founded by Marshall Pettygrove, our philosophy at American Press is a direct outgrowth of our mission statement. We firmly believe that quality and service extend beyond mere ink on paper or on-time delivery. What American Press does is firmly rooted in the belief that there must be high quality in the nature of the relationship between our customers and us. American Press values cooperative and educative relationships far more than adversarial relationships that can develop when there is no sense of the needs of one’s partner.

We believe in holding ourselves responsible for our behavior and do not shirk responsibility when the inevitable occasionally occurs—something going wrong. While we are getting to the bottom of a problem, we worry less about “who shot John” and more about its resolution. If it turns out that we contributed to the problem, we make good expeditously, and because we do, our customers have a sense of comfort that American Press will always do what’s right, not simply what is expedient.

We believe in working toward mutually acceptable goals together, and though the term partnership may be used a lot (for good reason), it is a noble ideal toward which American Press constantly aspires.

We have grown, forging partnerships with new clients while at the same time, enjoying mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships with many of the same customers our company was founded upon.

Environmentally Responsible

A respect for our environment has long been a part of our relationship with our local community. Since 2002, we have invested significiant capital in highly sophisticated afterburners for our press equipment and facilities. During this time, we reduced our Sustainable forest volatile organic compound emissions by more than 90% to 2,700 lbs. per year. Other environmental investments include conversion from volatile alcohol-based solvents to synthetic, allowing for proper wetting without pollution. FSC Org.

We currently have extensive programs in place to recycle and convert paper, printing plates and other materials used in our production process. In addition, our customers are afforded several options in recycled papers and responsibly harvested papers through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and SFI certification programs.
